okay this is my first post. im sixteen years old and from Arcata California. Last year i got recruited to play soccer in the elite PSG youth academy in paris. I am the first American to join the academy in its history. Last year we were champions of France. Im just gonna start blogging and see were it takes me. Spring training started on august 1st, bringing my awesome but short summer vacation to an end. Before i knew it i was on a plane back to Paris. Last years coach left the club, and so i finally got to meet the new coach. He seems like a good coach and a pretty nice guy but its still to early to tell for sure. I love the first day of training cuz i get a giant back of training gear for the year, its like Christmas come early. During the month of august we have two training's every day plus a game on the weekend, its a tough month but i love the intensity. Last year was difficult, i had a hard time getting used to the French culture and i didn't make very many friends within the team. But this year allot of the guys i disliked have moved up to the u19 team, making room for new kids. It really feels different in the locker room, definitely a more positive environment for the team. This year i really hope to get called up to the U17 US national team. I have been in touch with the assistant coach so we will see were that goes. Meanwhile the pro team got bought up by some rich guys from Qatar who are spending millions on new players, thus putting PSG in the world spotlight. Hopefully the new team will mold PSG into a world class club. Last December we went to a pre world cup tournament in Brazil, it was totally awesome. The greatest part of the tournament was when we beat fc Barcelonas u17 team (the best youth academy in the world) and we got to play on tv. i gotta get some sleep, tomorrow i got to training's as usual.
